Prof. Hu Yihuai
Shanghai Maritime University, China

Dr. Hu Yihuai received his Ph.D. of Marine Engineering from Wuhan University of Technology in 1993, and then worked in the Huazhong University of Science and Technology as a post-doctorial researcher until 1995. He immediately joined Shanghai Maritime University and has been working there since then. In 2006 he worked in the University of New South Wales in Australia as a visiting professor and he is now a professor in Shanghai Maritime University. He is also the member of Shanghai Society of Internal Combustion Engine, member of China Ship Building Society and member of Shanghai System Simulation Society, member of China New Energy Society. Over the past two decades, he has published 102 academic papers, guided 6 research projects and participated in 24 projects. His publications include "Accident Analysis and Safety Assessment of Marine Machinery System", "Marine Diesel Engine Propulsion System" , "Marine Engine Room Simulation Technology", "Noise, Vibration and Emission Control of Marine Diesel Engine" and "New Energy and Ship Energy Saving Technology". He has obtained 11 awards and honors for teaching, research and technical development by Shanghai Education Committee and Communications Ministry of China. His current research interests include: Mechanical condition monitoring and fault diagnosis; Marine system simulation and engine room simulator; Renewable energy utilization on board ship.

Keynote Speaker II


Prof. CHOU Loke Ming
Tropical Marine Science Institute, National University of Singapore, Singapore

Dr. CHOU Loke Ming is Adjunct Research Professor at the Tropical Marine Science Institute, National University of Singapore. He obtained his PhD in Zoology from the University of Singapore in 1976. His research on coral reef ecology and integrated coastal management covers Southeast Asia. His current research focus is reef restoration and he is particularly interested in how corals can be re-established in the highly turbid conditions of rapidly developing coastal areas. He is an Honorary Fellow of the Singapore Institute of Biology and a Fellow of the Singapore National Academy of Science.

Keynote Speaker III


Prof. Hyo Choi
Dept. of Atmospheric & Environmental Sciences,Gangneung-Wonju National University, South Korea

Dr. Hyo Choi is meteorologist, environmental scientist and physical oceanographer with over 40 years experiences in numerical modeling researches as Overseas invited senior researcher by Korean Government of Korea Ocean Research & Development Institute (KORDI (now, KIOST) of KAIST), Ministry of Science & Technology, a high-level Researcher (nominated by President of Korean Government) of National Fisheries & Research Development Institute (NFRDI), Ministry  of  Maritime  Affairs & Fisheries, and Full Professor of Gangneung-Wonju National University.  He obtained 2 Ph.D. degrees from Dept. of Civil Engineering, University of Texas at Austin, USA (1984) and College of Environmental Sciences, Peking University, Beijing; China (2004).  His research interests cover a variety of fields in Meteorology, Environmental Science & Engineering and Physical Oceanography. He acted as not only Interpreter and Investigator of Korea Antarctic Scientific Expedition Team for two times (1985~1987), but also Korean Government Representative for Inter-governmental Meetings on Antarctic Treaty and Science Policies.  He has been President of Korean Environmental Sciences Society (2002~2003), President and Vice President of Asia-Oceania Geosciences Society, Singapore (Atmospheric Section-60 Nations), Director General of Donghae Coastal Region Research Institute (1989~1991) and Dean of the Graduate School, Gangneung-Wonju National University, Korea (2009~2011, 2011~2012).  In present, he is Director General of Atmospheric & Oceanic Disaster Research Institute, Korea (2014~Present), High-end Foreign Expert of South China Sea Institute of Oceanology, China (CAS; 2015~Presen), and also acting as Editor-in-Chief of 13 international journals (USA, Singapore, India) and Editor of 25 ones (USA, UK, Italy, Canada, etc.) in Environmental Pollution, Disaster, Agriculture, Food sciences, Water resources, Lake and rivers, GIS, Physical sciences, Oceanography, Fishery and Meteorology.

Keynote Speaker IV

Prof. Dr. Yonghong Wang
College of Marine Geosciences, Ocean University of China

Dr. Yonghong Wang is Professor of College of Marine Geosciences at the Ocean University of China. Her research interests cover fields in marine sedimentary environment science and marine geography. Her current research focoues on environmental magnetism application on different marine sediment environments, including beach, estuary, shelf and deep sea. She is also interested in coastal evolution, beach evaluation and management. She has served as a visiting scholar in different universities in Germany, Australia and the UK, and adjunct professor in the University of Tokyo, Japan. Besides, she has received some awards in her university for her outstanding research and teaching accomplishment.
